2012 Lanier Under the Lights 5K
LANIER UNDER THE LIGHTS 5K

CHANGES FOR THE 2012 RACE...
1. New Race Course
2. Parking & Exiting
3. Date & Time Change to Sunday November 11 @ 5:45pm
4. Coral 1, Coral 2, Coral 3 & Coral 4
5. New Stroller Limitations
6. Restroom Facilities
7. Children should run with a registered parent or caregiver.
8. Registrations will be a maximum 1,500 participants.
9. The Fallen Heroes of Georgia race form has been changed considerably, please view the changes.
1. New Race Course
· Will dramatically reduce the number of vehicles on the race course to few if any.
· Same race course as the Fallen Heroes of Georgia 5K.
· 5K Course Certification # - GA11016WC, 2011 Course Certification # - GA11092WC

2. Parking & Exiting
· Race parking and exiting will not be impeded by the race course.
· So the delays that affected many following this year's race will not occur in 2012.
· Runners will use the upper parking lot, and walkers & volunteers will use the lower parking lot.
3. Date & Time Change to November 11 @ 5:45pm
· This is 1 day before the Resort starts hosting the 'Magical Nights of Lights'
· The date change will allow for more if not all lights to be in operation.
· The later start will allow for better experience viewing the lights.
· This will allow for functions around the Resort to get underway with little involvement of runners.
4. Coral 1, Coral 2, Coral 3 & Coral 4
· 1 minute delay between the starting of each Coral.
· Race corals will be more clearly marked.
· This will allow for a more orderly and controllable start and first mile or 2 of the race course.
5. New Stroller Limitations
· Sorry but walkers or runners will not be allowed to push a stroller while participating in the race.
· The race course is just too crowded and has several areas of low lighting.
· This is best for the safety of the little ones, and for other course participants.
6. Restroom Facilities
· In 2012 more port-o-johns will be in the vendor/packet pickup location.
· Since 70% of all participants are ladies, the Grand Hall's men's & women's restroom facilities will BOTH be women's restrooms.
7. Children should run with a registered parent or caregiver
· Due to much of the race course having limited or low lighting.
· This certainly pertains to all kids under 10, and ages above 10 should also have an registered adult running with them too. This is in the best interest of your children.
8. Registrations will be a maximum 1,500 participants.
· This limitation is due to limited parking, and to ensure the course is not too crowded.

2012 ENTRY FEES
· Entry Fee: $30.00
· This fee covers the increased gate fees per runner.
· Start & Finish Chip Timing.
· Registration will close when the limit of 1,500 participants in reached.
· Closing date will likely be in early October.
